Braves game... Sometimes I wonder why I play Poker

Braves Game

We went to the Braves game today. Ben Sheets didn't look as impressive as I'd expected, and the Braves actually won. The lineup looked pretty bad given the injuries to Chipper and McCann, but they somehow pulled it out. Campillo looked good, and it was a good experience once we moved to the shaded part of the stands.

It was Drew's first game. Being one and a half, I know he didn't really know what was going on, but I did get him to watch the pitcher throw the ball a couple of times. He also watched some of the hits and fly balls, but he mainly people watched, had a little Italian Sausage and Cotton Candy, and tried to figure out why in the world we were there.

Sometimes I wonder why I play Poker

I'd been going through a real bad stretch of cards lately, and I finally broke through getting an unbelievable stretch of starting hands. In less than an hour, I got:

AA, AKo, AQs, AQo, AJo (3 times), KQs, Kjs, QQ, QJs, JJ twice, TT, 99, 88, 77, 66, 55 , 44, 22 twice. Other than the small pairs, they were all pretty much in positions I could play. I was a preflop raising fool. I looked like a loose aggressive Psycho.

So how much did I win? LOL....I ended up down $2.46 of course.

AA and QQ were the only hands that won me any money, because I couldn't hit a freaking flop. Continuation bets didn't work, because people kept making legit hands against me. Plus, I got players all in a couple of time as the favorite, and I just couldn't convert.

Poker is a cruel game, but I'm a glutton for punishment. I guess I'll shut it down until next weekend. Maybe I'll have more luck then. As the blog implies, you win some, and you lose some.

I'm posting the two hands that killed me below.

Hand 1: Maybe a marginal call, but I figure I'm at worst a slight favorite. AA, KK, and QQ wouldn't have been in such a rush here. Can I really regret getting my hand in as a favorite?

Hand 2: I thought I was setting up for a coin flip, but got a surprise from the big blind. Turns out, I should've won here as I was once again a slight favorite.
